With over 65,000 users around the world, LearningGrids.com is one of the most popular websites for free educational resources. Updated every two weeks, it has materials for Clicker, ClozePro, Jigworks and Wordbar, covering a wide range of topics, ages and abilities.
With Community LearningGrids, a local authority or other group of schools can have its own LearningGrids website. People within the group can use the site to share their own resources - a fantastic way of putting the power of the internet to real, practical classroom use.

All the free materials we upload are available on your site too, so you'll have hundreds of files on your site from day one.

Easy to use
It's incredibly easy to add resources - simply choose a file you want to upload from your computer or network!
You can add resources to any of the LearningGrids categories, and you can create your own categories.
Only your group will see the resources you've added.
You can change what appears on your home page, so you can change your welcome message, news and featured resource whenever you like.

Easy to manage
We set up the site, and then your nominated administrator can:
- Name the site
- Change the colours
- Change the welcome message, news
and featured resource
- Give people different access permissions
- View resources uploaded by others before they appear on the site
- Create, change and organise categories and subcategories
The administrator simply logs into the site and clicks on 'Site Management’. No technical knowledge and very little maintenance is required.

Safe and secure
We want to be sure that nothing undesirable can reach your site, so your site will be on our secure web servers.
You have full control of your members' access permissions. You also have the option to inspect every resource that is uploaded before it is available to other users.
If you wish, you or a nominated person can receive an automatic email each time a new file is uploaded. You can then check it, choose the categories for it, and then make the resource available for others to see.

What's included
Your initial subscription includes:
- Initial creation of site
- Administrator training
- Access for any number of schools within the Local Authority
- 10 gigabytes of storage (our main LearningGrids site uses less than 2 gigabytes!)
- One full-day training workshop, either in our training room in Northampton or at your own site (within the UK)
We give the administrator all the training needed to get up and running. We also include a full day's workshop for up to 20 people as part of the package.
Simply provide us with some idea of the kinds of materials you want to create (such as topics or themes local to your area, or for pupils with particular needs). Our trainers (all experienced teachers) will then come to the workshop armed with templates and ideas especially for you, so that you can have your own materials on the site from day one.

FAQs
Can you browse the site within Clicker 5?
Yes - you can add a link to Clicker Explorer so that you can run your resources straight from Clicker 5, without having to open your web browser!
Which kinds of files can I upload?
Currently Community LearningGrids supports the uploading of Clicker 5 and Jigworks files (ClozePro coming soon). Uploading of Word and PDF documents can be enabled for a small additional subscription.
What about unsuitable or copyrighted material?
Every user has to agree to the terms and conditions of the site when they first join, so they know that they are responsible for everything that is uploaded using their account. The administrator can remove anything from the site and you can close down anyone's account with a click of the mouse.
What will the site address be?
www.LearningGrids.com/ followed by whatever name you like.
Who owns the materials our teachers upload to the site?
The teacher/school/Local Authority owns the material. Crick Software will not use any of the materials you upload.
How do I ask people to join the site?
You simply email a password and the site address to everyone you wish to have access. They then go to the site and enter the password you have sent them.
What happens if the site password gets into the wrong hands?
You can easily remove the rights of any unauthorised users, and if necessary you can reset the password.
Can you set up a site and provide training in a country other than the UK?
Community LearningGrids is only available in the UK at present. However, please contact us if you are outside the UK and we will let you know when it is available in other countries.
